Louie's Story...
Meet Louie, he is a fun loving and happy boy looking for his new home. Louie was rescued from the overcrowded shelter when he was on the Euthanize list. He had a family once that he loved deeply, but they took him to the shelter because they didn't want him anymore. Louie is so sweet, loves to be around his humans and plays all day in the yard with his foster brothers and sisters. Louie has a long and strong body of a Basset Hound and has eyes that will melt your heart.

He has been neutered, current on vaccinations, wormed, and has had his cherry eye removed. He is ready to meet his new family and shower them with doggy kisses. Louie is being fostered in Eastern, KY but transport is available for out of area adoptions. If necessary, Louis will get a health certificate if adopted out of area. He will travel with all his vet records for his new family to keep.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Hagerstown Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
