Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello. My name is Winkie. I'm 5 years old and I weigh about 18 lbs.
I was originally found as a stray on rt. 45 in the Wellsville area. A nice girl stopped and picked me up so I didn't get hit on the road. She posted my picture on facebook and found my owner. He came and picked me up from her and took me home. On Friday (just a day or two later) he must have figured he didn't really want me anymore 'cause I was found dumped out on the side of the road in the Rogers area. The girl who found me contacted the pound, but unfortunately, she didn't know my owner's last name or phone number or anything so at this time, the pound cannot press charges on him for abandonment, but they are looking in to it.
I guess they figure I am kind of better off here than with him anyhow if he didn't want me. Not to mention I have cherry eye, which will require surgery to repair, that he has neglected to get fixed as well.
I am just the sweetest little girl you could imagine, so the fact that he didn't want me is baffling.
I love, love, love all people. I also get along well with other dogs.
The pound has a call in to their vet about getting my cherry eye fixed... they'll update as soon as possible on when it is being repaired.
If you're looking for a sweet dog to add you your family, please consider adopting me!
I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER NOVEMBER 24, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.
MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.
THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
