ABILENE's Story...
Abilene is just the sweetest little southern belle you ever did meet! This darling adorable girl was picked up as a stray on 11/19 and sadly was not claimed and had no identification on her. So now that means she's an orphan and needs a loving adopter to give her a forever home. She is just 2 years old and weighs 12 lbs. She is so incredibly smart and obedient she blows us away. She will sit as soon as you start saying the word and won't move until you tell her it's okay. She's got a nice calm energy and will make such a fabulous best friend. Hurry if you're interested because she won't last long! Abilene is current on her vaccines and upon adoption will be spayed, heartworm tested and micro chipped. Her ID # is 571053 and can be found in cage 323 in the puppy/small dog room.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ABILENE, a Marietta Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
