Here's what the humans have to say about me:
CAPTAIN HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!Captain Boggle is an adorable 5 year old, 18 pound, male Beagle/Terrier mix. Captain was purchased from a pet store when he was just a small pup. His family's situation changed and they could no longer care for him, and Boggle found himself in a overburdened pound in southern, IL. A volunteer with Pal's Place spotted this little guy and brought him up to our rescue in Chicago. He's a sweet, gentle and very affectionate boy when he warms up to new people, but can sometimes be shy and defensive when nervous or uncomfortable. He is quickly won over with a treat or two and some kind words. It appears that Captain was abused by his previous owners. He can be a little hand shy with people he does not know, but his foster mom is working with him to help him realize no one is going to hurt him again and to boost his confidence. He can be anxious in new environments and is kind of a homebody, so he'll do best with a patient guardian who has a quiet lifestyle. This little guy thrives on a routine! Captain will do best with a confident guardian who can continue to help boost his confidence and understand his fears and insecurities. Once you've earned his trust, he'll be a loyal and affectionate friend until the end. Captain Boggle is extremely intelligent, listens well and knows a few basic commands. He's being fostered with several other dogs and gets along well with everyone. He loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep in the bed under the covers, he just always wants to be near his people! He's playful and fun, but also knows when it's time to settle down. He's a great mix of energies. Young children scare him though, so he may do better in a home with high school aged children or no children. Captain is quiet and well behaved in the home, he's completely housetrained and trustworthy left with free run of the home when alone. He will be a wonderful friend for one lucky household. To help give Captain the best chance of a successful transition into his new home Pal's Place is waiving his adoption donation once his new guardians have completed three private training sessions with a behaviorist to be covered by Pal's Place Rescue.
•Captain's adoption donation is $175. This donation helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, initial worming and microchip. His adoption donation will be refunded once his training sessions have been completed. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Captain from euthanasia.
