Brother Baxter's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Baxter is a lover boy.  he loves his doggie friends and his human friends.  Baxter loves on the other dogs he is living with all the time, cleaning their faces.  He does not act his age- loves his walks, even if it may be a bit slower than a young dog.  He is so excited when the leash comes out - he loves car rides, playing in the back yard or just hanging out and watching a movie.  A tennis ball is one of his favorite toys right now.

Baxter is a really great big lovable dog.  He may be a little older but he has a lot of life and joy in him.  He would do best in a home with another dog and is great around kids.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brother Baxter, a Grapevine Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Grapevine, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Grapevine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grapevine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grapevine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grapevine paves the way for another one to be saved.
