Ellie's Story...
Sweet Ellie and her littermates were rescued from a drainage ditch and now ready for their forever homes. She is about 12 weeks old and was a bit shy but now she pushes the 2 boys around and shows them who is boss! She is a snuggler and loves to be held, play with her toys and her foster family. She is great with other dogs and kitties too. She will be spayed prior to adoption and is microchipped and current on shots. She is crate trained and working on house training...she deserves a family of her very own...could that be with you? Ellie's adoption fee is $125 and you can apply at or email for more info

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Houston Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
