My name is Kadir and if you assume that being a purebred, CKC- registered dog means that you will never be homeless ... think again. I am a one-year-old, Standard Schnauzer, who has been in at least two homes already. The last one felt that they were not equipped to handle me since I was continuously marking my territory –mainly because they had two unspayed females and I was not neutered. Now that I am sterilized, my urge to mark everywhere should diminish in time. So first on the list of “things to do” would be a refresher in toilet training. I am extremely fearful and under socialized; the people at Animatch are not sure if it’s genetic or if I was just never socialized... When I arrived at Animatch, I just wanted to hide and make the world disappear. Now, I think these humans mean no harm; they want nothing more than to make me feel safe and happy. I will need an experienced guardian who will be patient and work with me to gain my trust – slow and easy. I do enjoy going for walks, soft fluffy blankets, and toys, especially Nylabones! Standard Schnauzers are very lively and athletic, so I will need a guardian who is ready to make me part of their activities. Also, because I have missed out on a lot of socialization in my early months, I need a home where I am not alone all day. I do get along with other dogs and am quite confident around them. If you have the time and experience to help me become a healthy, well-adjusted dog, please consider adopting me. Fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Kadir.
