My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie and Sierra are a mother/daughter bonded pair who MUST stay together. Dixie, is a 12 yr old Blue Merle Australian Shepherd and Sierra, 11, her daughter is a Red Merle Australian Shepherd. They are both beautiful, well-mannered girls who are in need of a wonderful home. Their owner passed away after a lengthy illness. This dynamic duo has spent many weeks in boarding and have now moved into a foster home. The girls were extremely morbidly obese upon intake, but have been on a calorie controlled diet and regular exercise routine, to help them slim down. Dixie has no known health issues. Sierra is on medication for a heart murmur, hypo thyroid and Cushings disease. The Cushings is expected to reverse itself after reaching and maintaining a healthy weight. Former owner was elderly and often forgot to medicate Sierra, which lead to worsening health issues. Both dogs are fully vetted, spayed, current on all preventatives and ready to show some love! NOTE: It had been reported to us that Dixie had aggression issues with other dogs and cats. We have put these girls through numerous evaluations and not found this to be the case. They have been territorial over their kennel in boarding, but nothing more. We have had lengthy discussions with family members and aren’t sure where the label originated from, but we are confident that they can be placed safely in a home with other dog. We are unsure of their cat status. Adoption fee is $200/pair. Home visit is required.
