UPDATED BIO 1/12/15: Ollie is an adorable 8 year old 6 lb boy who is being fostered in Miami, FL.
As you may recall, Ollie was rescued at the very last moment Thanksgiving weekend prior to being euthanized at an area shelter. He had a terrible case of kennel cough. We are so glad this little guy made it. He is a doll.... a laid-back, easygoing guy that loves to sleep but also loves to check out the outdoors with you! Also he is 110% housetrained.
Ollie has been neutered and has had his dental. His labwork was perfect. He is a healthy little guy. His main issues are 1) he has luxating patellas and will need to be on glucosamine for the rest of his life. He takes dasuquin (costs $8/month). 2) He also has a collapsed trachea and cannot be walked with a collar - only harness. We are going to try some new medication this week and see if we can get his cough under control.

UPDATED BIO 12/23/2014: Hi! My name is Ollie!!! I am approximately 8 years old and weigh a healthy (and maybe a little chunky) 5.8 lbs. I am being fostered in Miami, FL. :) Like my outfit? I am ready for Santy Paws!!! I heard he's coming really soon to visit good little pups like me!
So what can I tell you? I am the bestest boy (or at least my foster momma says so). I am 100% housetrained. I LOVE to go for walks on a leash. I love other dogs....... let's see... what else? Does cleaning my plate count as a good quality?
Today I had some toofers pulled that were rotten. Now my breath is minty fresh! I was noot-ered too. I have some ouchies right now, and foster momma is taking good care of me. My lab work was perfect too!!
Overall, I am a laid back kind of guy. I love to nap with you, but I'm also all about going for walks! I have some luxated patellas, but I'm on a glucosamine supplement that makes me feel so much better! I can definitely keep up with you! Don't you want to take me home? I'm the best present you can get yourself! Contact my foster mom, okay?
UPDATED BIO 12/7/2014: Ollie is an 8 year old 6 lb little guy who is being fostered in Miami, FL. When Ollie was rescued, he was in pretty bad shape. He had a terrible case of kennel cough and was congested. The little guy had a rough time breathing. He required syringed fluids, subcutaneous fluids, lots of hanging out on the shower to help break up his mucous, and antibiotic therapy. Happily, this little guy is on the mend!!
Ollie just might be the sweetest dog around. He is a lovable little guy, is housetrained, and loves to explore the outdoors on his leash. We don't go too far because he still has a cough, but he is getting better every day.
The shelter paperwork says 10 years old, but that is likely because his teeth are HORRENDOUS!! We will get a better approximation of his age during his next visit. He will also need a neuter and all labwork before he is ready for surgery. That's probably a couple of weeks away right now. Ollie is a sweet little guy who just narrowly escaped euthanasia. Kennel cough is treatable. We are so glad this guy made it (and so will his furever family once they see his bio and picture and fall in love like we did!)
INITIAL BIO 11/29/2014: Hello, my name is Ollie. I am a 10 year old 6 lb little guy who is being fostered in Miami, FL. What a day!! I was literally saved this afternoon in the final couple of hours of my life. See, my foster momma was out running errands when she received an email from the rescue department at a local animal shelter (thank goodness for smartphones!). The email said I had severe respiratory illness and that if I wasn't rescued by 4p, I would be humanely euthanized because my condition was deteriorating. Well, I am definitely a pretty sick guy right now. I need to be syringe-fed and am on two antibiotics. I need a lot of prayers right now because I just don't feel so well. I have a lot of congestion and am having a hard time breathing.
That said, my foster momma is real nice (when she isn't forcing me to take nutrical and water.... or sticking pills down my throat!). I won't eat anything, and I know she is just trying to make me feel better. I am so happy to be out of that shelter in a nice quiet, comfortable bed. Foster momma gives me belly rubs and scratches my ears (did I mention I have bad ear infections and severe dental disease). I appear to be housetrained and love being outside.
