Phoebe's Story...
Name: Phoebe
Color: Grey and Black Tabby
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Gender: Female
Age: 3 Months
This beautiful girl is Phoebe and she is looking for her loving forever home. Cats can live to be 15-20 years of age so she is really looking for someone who is in it for the long haul.
Big fan of: Like most kittens, Phoebe is going to need tons of toys, love, and stimulation to be happy. Phoebe is shy around new people and takes a while to warm up. Once she does she is a total sweetheart who likes to climb up onto your shoulder so she can be near you. Her foster parent tells me that she also loved sleeping in the bed with her where she could snuggle up all nice and warm.
Dream Home: Phoebe isn't overly fond of other cats but could benefit from going to a home with a mellow male cat that can help her build her confidence. She would do best in a home without any dogs but could potentially adjust to a home with just the right cat-savvy dog that knows better than to chase her. Patient, older children are also likely okay as long as they are old enough to know not to play too rough with her little body.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
