Maverick is Adopted
Maverick is currently fostered in Lisbon OH, and his adoption fee/donation is $300
Maverick is an adorable 3 yr old male cocker spaniel that came into our rescue as an owner surrender. He was given up due to his former owner being gone long hours and going into the military in the very near future.
Maverick had separation anxiety and does not do well with being left alone. He is not destructive in any way. His anxiety causes him to howl and drool all over himself, and chew himself raw from being alone. Maverick is also on the timid side, and does get scared/frightened by strangers easily.
That is the negative side of things, on a positive note, he is an absolute adorable and well mannered cocker boy!! He is loveable and affectionate, good with other dogs, is housebroken, and crate trained. This boy does not have a mean bone in his body, his temperament is so phenomenal, he is a very laid back gentle soul.
We are trying some things to help him with his anxieties and build up his confidence. His former owner did have him on medication for the anxiety, and we will be discussing with our vet if this is the best option for him or not. We are starting with an anti anxiety wrap, and some confidence building, leaving for short periods of time as opposed to the long days alone.
We are looking for a home for Maverick that is willing to continue to help him through his fear of being by himself, and that has a schedule that will allow them to be home more often.
Maverick is up to date on vaccines and is already neutered.
