My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hola! I'm Pepe, a 2 year old chihuahua/terrier mix, weighing in at a svelte 10 pounds. Affectionately known by my foster parents as Chooch, or Choo, or Choo Choo. Doesn't matter, I answer to all! While at first I was a little leery of big guys, I now understand that humans, whatever size, shape or gender, are vehicles of affection. If I sound quite the scholar, that is because I have learned so much in my foster home that I now consider myself an astute, bright, brainy and brilliant example of my heritage! I have developed an array of clever ways to attract your attention, showing off my extreme cuteness. You will not be able to resist my adorable and charming personality, and in turn I get to sit on your lap or your arm. Sometimes you rub my belly, which is one of my favorite pastimes!

I love to play with a ball, a squeak toy, rope or whatever else you have for me. I like playing with my own species as well. Big or small, I can handle any size friend I meet. I am a very brave and confident fellow. I have the ability to learn so much more, in case you have anything in mind you'd like to teach me! I'm willing and able.

My foster mom says this about me: Chooch is quite the agility athlete, In fact, he'd be a riot to teach all kinds of tricks. I bet he'd be able to walk on a ball if you taught him. He is crate trained, but it's not his favorite place. He'll go in no problem either for a meal or a treat, but likes to come out when done. May whine a little, but settles down if you leave. I have left him loose in the "dog room" without incident. That said, I'd say he's housetrained, but would need time for adjustment in a new home. He's great with other dogs, and mostly ignores my cat once he was used to her. He's fine with both men, women and older children (I don't have any small ones). This guy has developed such a personality, all of us are getting quite attached to him and amused daily at his silly antics. What a great little dog!

Pepe's adoption fee of $300 includes: initial vet exam, heartworm test (neg) and heart worm preventative, distemper combination vaccination, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, routine deworming, flea control, neuter and microchip.
