Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Aarf dogs can only be adopted in Richmond, Va or the surrounding area.
Hi, I am Darcy, and I am a Bassador. I have the long, low body of my Basset Hound relatives, and the intelligence and sweet personality of my Labrador relatives. I was born in about the middle of 2014 and weigh about 30 pounds.
Would you like to know about my favorite things? OK, I’ll tell you. I love playing outside, where I usually find a stick or pine cone and the other dogs will try to steal it. That never gets old. I like to play-fight with my foster siblings; it’s great exercise and my foster family thinks it’s pretty funny when I try to sound ferocious. I love playing with all the adult dogs I’ve met, and I’ve found that little humans also make great playmates. I like learning, too. My foster family has taught me words like “outside” and “sit” and I can’t wait to learn more. And most of all, I love to snuggle when it’s time to sleep – curled up on my foster mom’s lap.
I’ve been working on my domestic skills so I can fit right into my forever home. I almost always come when called, and when I'm told “No!” I stop what I'm doing (well, most of the time!). I understand that going to the bathroom is an outside thing and am good (although not yet perfect) about that. And while my foster family is away at work, I spend the day relaxing in my crate, with no fuss and just one mid-day break. And I have learned that toilet paper on a roll is not a toy!
I am really looking forward to finding my forever home. Thanks for taking the time to read about me!
