Napoleon's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.

Napoleon's Story...
Small Guy, Big Attitude, that's the best way to describe "Napoleon" the 2 year old Miniature Dachshund.
Napoleon came to us emaciated and in horrible condition. He didn't trust anyone and tried to bite and snap at people.
Now after a few weeks, he gained some weight ( still needs to gain .5-1 lbs) and started to trust and love certain people.
Napoleon is a dog that needs time and we will not adopt him out with out the new Owner coming to the shelter for a week daily and work and get to know him.
Napoleon has severe trust issues and was never socialized. He is a little food aggressive, but who can blame him ( we are working on that right now)
As you can see in the pictures, once he trusts you, he is the biggest love bug ever.
He loves food and toys, is kennel and 85% housetrained. He does not like to be outside and will storm to the door, right after doing his business.
Napoleon is , as of now, not good with other animals or children. He needs a experienced home.

Napoleon's Adoption Fee is $142, which includes: Neuter, Microchip, Vaccines ( Distemper & Rabies), Heartwormtest and deworming. If you're interested please call (785)239-6183! If no one answers then please leave a message! You can also contact us via email at nicole.p.storm@us.army.mil

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Napoleon, a Fort Riley Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Fort Riley, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Fort Riley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Riley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Riley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Riley paves the way for another one to be saved.
