Bruce's Story...
Bruce aka “Brucey” is an adorable chocolate 2 year old lab mix that is looking for his forever home. Poor Bruce came from a shelter that left him being underweight. This stud is medium energy and settles down nicely. Bruce is crate-trained, neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He suffered some mild anxiety about his crate initially but with “treat reinforcement” has been trained well. Not only does this chocolate lover have the looks but also has the brains! Bruce is such a smart boy already knowing commands of sit, lay down, stay and shake. There is still room for improvement on the leash, but is very motivated to learn and please his owners. Bruce does great with other canines big or small. He does have affection for the kitties even though they may not feel the same love towards him. Due to his size and clumsiness he may not be the best dog for children under the age of five. This sweetheart wants a home to love to pieces!! If you feel Bruce is the match for you please complete an application and mention Bruce in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruce, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
