My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dakota has just returned from 12 week of training at the Grafton Correctional Institute and is now a proud Prison Graduate. She has been trained in basic commands, obedience, manners and proper leash walking. Adopt her now while her training is fresh. Better hurry, Prison Grads don't last long.

Dakota is a super cute and friendly 5 year old Golden Retriever mix. This sweet gal was surrendered because her owners went to a nursing facility. She loved her nightly walks in the park. Miss Dakota did not like other dogs in her former home but participated in the prison training program without any incidents. She has not been around cats. Dakota is good with kids over 6 years of age. This nice girl loves to snuggle during quiet time and thinks she's a lap dog. Dakota would love a fenced yard with a family that would include her in their activities. She's lived with older people and would love a chance to be a little more active. Please give Dakota that chance.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
