Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET DEWEY
A red, patchwork, dapple wire hair Dachshund (AKC with no papers), young Master DEWEY is just as dapper as can be. He is very petite (8lbs 9 oz) and a real love. DEWEY loves other Dachshunds and to play with balls, especially tennis balls. One of his favorite tricks is to jump up and bounce the ball with his nose. DEWEY is house trained, neutered and fully up to date on his vaccinations. He's not a big fan of car rides, so he would prefer a family with a large, fenced back yard who likes to stick close to home. DEWEY is experiencing a bit of separation anxiety right now so he also needs a Doxie savvy home with family to love him and help him through this. Are you in the market for this sweet, adorable loving little doxie? If so, won't you please let us know?
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give DEWEY a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
