Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I would hold you in my arms, Chase away your fears. Tell you how much I love you, Throughout the Golden Years (From Golden Years by Robin Murphy)
If ever a piece of poetry mirrored what a sweet older girl needs, these few words are what Roxy needs more than anything. This gentle soul has a sad story to share that tells of the total disregard for life that some people have and thankfully the heroes who step in and see a life to be saved. Roxy is a nine year old Rat Terrier mix who was thrown away at the shelter the day before Thanksgiving. We do not know the reason and her foster mom is unable to find one. These things usually happen because some see pups as disposable due to age. This is what we do know about Roxy. Initially she was traumatized. She was literally pulled into rescue moments before being put down and that too is a story all it's own. Once she was settled into a safe loving foster home, she shined! Roxy loves to go for walks, get dressed up, snuggle and cuddle, and mingle with her foster siblings (older girls don't 'hang out'). She has many more years of love to offer, nine really isn't that old in the Rat Terrier world, it just means she's more mellow. Roxy deserves to be placed in a quiet home by herself or with another senior where she can bask in the glory of her golden years, she has earned it. This little lady has impeccable house manners. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on all preventatives. We promised Roxy a loving forever family. We know you are out there somewhere and she's waiting patiently for you.
If you are interested in adding this sweet little girl to your family, send an email to friendsofjcas@gmail.com for an application. $50.00 adoption fee covers spay, vaccinations, wormers and preventatives.
