Ava's Story...
Ava is one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet. A smaller girl, weighing in only around 30 lbs. Ava is perfectly content to lie at your feet and gaze up at you with her adoring eyes.

She's so incredibly loving and sweet. All she wants is to be pet and told what a good girl she is. House broken and very well mannered, she gets along well with her foster mom's other dogs and ignores the cats.

This easygoing girl is looking for an understanding person who can help her know what a true family is and to love her for the rest of her days!

Please email us only regarding the adoption of our rescues. We are very sorry but we simply do not have time to return everyone's phone calls as we are a very small and all volunteer group who also work full time jobs. We will return your emails however in a timely fashion.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please email empirerescue@gmail.com to get an adoption application for me emailed to you. You will be so glad you did. Be sure to write AVA in the subject line of the email.

If you cannot adopt but you would like to help you can make a donation or sponsorship to defray the cost of our high vetting bills please mail donations to: EARS, 2 Fancher Ave, Salamanca, NY 14779. You are also able to make donations via Pay Pal to us at empirerescue@gmail.com. We are in need of help for our spay and neuter clinics and emergency angel fund as more and more animals need our help off the streets and back country roads! Any amount is greatly appreciated!!! Did you know that your donation to EARS is also tax-exempt? That's just an added bonus to helping a homeless animal in need!

Did you know that sharing saves lives? Please like us on Facebook at Empire Animal Rescue Society to keep up to date with our new rescues and events! Sharing pets via Facebook has saved thousands upon thousands of animals from being put to death in shelters! You never know when one of your friends might be in the market for a new pet! Besides, sharing only takes a few seconds!

Why Adopt? Adopting rather than shopping for your next pet will help to reduce the number of animals euthanized. Adopting a pet actually saves TWO LIVES as you free up space for another animal in need to find lasting love through the wonder of adoption.

You’ll get a pet who is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and healthy. As opposed to purchasing or getting a “free to a good home” pet, you’ll welcome a fully-vetted companion animal in to your life.

Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of shelter pets are homeless through no fault of their own. Divorce, financial constraints, time limitations and NOT the animal’s health & or behavior are the most common reasons an animal is left homeless.

You’ll save money. Many pets in the shelter system are already spayed or neutered and if not, shelters often receive a discount from their participating veterinarian and passes the savings on to the adoptive family. Also, adoption fees are much less expensive than buying from a breeder or pet store.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ava, a Salamanca Mountain Cur/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mountain Cur/Beagle for sale in Salamanca, or seeking a Mountain Cur/Beagle dog from a breeder in Salamanca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salamanca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salamanca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mountain Cur/Beagle breeders who help with Mountain Cur/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salamanca paves the way for another one to be saved.
