My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meow! Nice to meet you...my name is Bucky Boy. As you can see from my pictures, I am quite the looker. I have beautiful golden eyes and an adorable little orange nose. In fact, Bucky is short for Buckwheat which perfectly describes my soft buff/cream colored coat. My moniker is also apt since I love to jump, leap, and buck! My foster mom thinks I might be spring-loaded :)

My good looks and physical prowess are not the only things I've got going for me. At 7 years old, I've outgrown the kitten craziness but still enjoy play and cuddle time. I am actually one of the sweetest, friendliest kitties you'll ever meet. Even after a bumpy car ride, I'll step right out of the cat carrier and immediately ask for pats - no hiding under the bed for 5 hours, no hissing or swatting - I'll just settle right into the family. I'm respectful and friendly towards cat-savvy dogs but I have to be an only cat since I am FeLV positive. Feline leukemia is a virus that attacks the immune system. It is contagious to other cats, but not to humans or dogs. If properly cared for, I can live a full and happy life. Even though I was perfectly healthy, my FeLV status put me on shelter death row. Fortunately, I got scooped up by Broken Tail and am now in foster care awaiting my forever home!

All in all, I am handsome gentleman who would love to make you smile. If you're looking for a mellow, sweet companion, I'm your guy!
