Spike's Info...

I am already neutered, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Spike's Story...
Spike is a Maine Coon Mix cat. He was a survivor of the Helmetta Animal Shelter. He was rescued after the SPCA stepped in and all cats needed to be pulled. He is extremely playful and loves to get attention and be brushed. He is mouthy when he plays, and lets you know if he has had enough. We suspect he may have been an only kitten, who never learned his boundaries, so he needs an experienced cat person who knows how to read his cues.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Pittstown Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Pittstown, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Pittstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
