Rio's Story...
Rio is an approximately 9 month old medium sized border collie. He's a very out going, happy go lucky type of guy. He's friendly towards every person, dog and cat that he meets! He is crate trained and house trained. He knows a few tricks as well. He's good at fetch and will bring the frisbee right back to your hands.

Rio is typical border collie in that he is ready to do anything and everything with you. He would be a great companion for someone thinking about getting into dog sports like agility or flyball. When he's finally tired out for the day, he is a very good boy in the house and will usually just relax beside you with a toy to chew on. He also loves to snuggle!

If you are looking for an active companion and enjoy a good snuggle after a busy day, Rio might be the one for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rio, a Saskatoon Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Saskatoon, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Saskatoon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saskatoon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saskatoon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saskatoon paves the way for another one to be saved.
