Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Timmy is a 7 year old, male Yorkie being fostered in Clearwater, FL. He weighs a hefty 16 pounds. He has the cutest floppy ear tip on one side and the most gorgeous golden eyes!
Timmy has always had a very loving home. He was taken in one year ago by his sister after his original mom and dad divorced. Timmy was surrounded by a loving family, but was also suddenly having to share his home with a toddler. Timmy has a very sensitive stomach and with a 2 year old around, every tiny scrap of human food he could find was making him sick. He was also showing signs of stress by eating all of the smaller toys (which was also becoming dangerous to his health). With great sadness, Timmy's family knew they were not able to provide the safest environment for him. After researching different options, they were most confident in the help UYR could provide in finding the perfect forever home for this darling boy. We could not be happier to help!
Timmy is house trained & used to getting 3-4 walks each day to do his business. He can use all of his weight to pull on the end of the leash when he is excited so he needs someone strong enough to handle that powerful tug. Timmy does not like large dogs. He will lunge and pull with all of his might to try going after a larger dog. Timmy has a history of a torn ACL a few years ago. It was surgically repaired, but it could re-tear if he is allowed to pull against his hind legs too hard. SO, when he does start to pull too much, he may need to be lifted up until the focus of his attention has changed.
Timmy is really great at giving kisses! He loves to sit in your lap and lick your hands or face. Timmy plays fetch and light tug-o-war with his toys. He likes all people, but is only fully comfortable around older children. He will not be adopted into a home with kids under 10 years old.
Timmy just moved into his new foster home, so we are still learning all about him. So far, he is a very easy going guy and super sweet & loving. Just LOOK at those handsome eyes! He will visit the vet this week to make sure everything is in working order, vaccinations are up to date and to get his microchip, then... he's ready to go home. Is that your home?

Timmy is a sweet, 7 year old, 14 lb. Yorkie boy being fostered in Clearwater FL. Timmy’s former owners asked United Yorkie Rescue for help in finding him a perfect forever home. Timmy just got to his foster home so please stay tuned as we get to know him better!
