Here's what the humans have to say about me:
They are sisters and they've been together since birth. When one is tired, the other curls up around her to keep her warm. When one takes a bath the other helps her get the places she can't reach. They love each other and they want to stay together.
We often don't know the backstory on rescued animals but in this case, we do. Three kittens were found in a hot ditch in early September, 2013. September in Alabama is HOT. A man mowing his yard stepped on something, looked down, and there lay three infant kittens, less than a week old. He had stepped on one's head - and was heartbroken. The kittens were hungry, dehydrated, and tiny. No mother in sight.
FOR took all three from him, including one with a whopsided head. They began bottle feeding them and amazingly, the kitten with the smashed head did everything normally. The miracle kitten was named Whoopsy Daisy for obvious reasons! All three were kept warm, fed, and developed to be beautiful kittens.
All three were adopted at 10 weeks old and luckily (it seemed), Velvet and Whoopsy were adopted together. Unfortunately, they have been surrendered back to FOR because of human issues -- the girls are perfect. Polite, fun, healthy, and well trained. We're glad to have them back so we can give them a second chance at the home they deserve.
They are fostered in Huntsville, AL and don't have a single fault. Not one. They have glistening coats that are incredibly soft and they are small cats and very kittenish in behavior and size. Because they were hand fed, they have total trust and love of humans. If you'd like to meet them, you may visit them at the FOR office by emailing info@FORrescue.net.
