My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Florence, and I am looking for a loving, forever home. I was rescued from a very unsafe beach for dogs in Puerto Rico called Dead Dog Beach, and I am being fostered in Brooklyn. My foster family adores me and says I am high-spirited, affectionate, hilarious, and curious about everything (especially the vacuum cleaner). My main interests are belly rubs and whatever you’re doing.

While I love family life, I’m still learning the ropes. I’m very affectionate and love to play, but I’m very stubborn, and I can get a little snappy if people try to make me do something I don’t want to do, like not eat the herb garden.

I need a patient family with lots of dog experience — ideally with terriers like me — who is willing to train me and help me learn coping mechanisms for stressful things like not getting my own way. My foster family thinks I’ll be a wonderful, loving companion for the right family.

I’m about 2 years old, 25 lbs, spayed, fully vetted and vaccinated and microchipped.
