Cole's Story...
Hello. I came to the SPCA on Christmas Eve because my owner no longer wanted me. Having no home for the holidays was heartbreaking. I hope that this sad beginning has a happy ending. Are you the one to give me my forever home? I promise that I am well worth your time. As you can see, I am very handsome with this soft luxurious coat. But, I have brains to go along with the beauty. I already know several commands: sit, lay down, and shake/paw. And, I will happily show you these tricks for a yummy treat. In addition, I am housebroken and will let you know when I need to go outside for a potty break. When I'm not showing off my amazing talents, I like to keep active. I'm very energetic and love to run and play. Fetch is my favorite game ever! Yeah I am pretty awesome. My ideal home would have a fenced-in yard where I can play because left to my own devices, I have a tendency to travel. If you have other doggies in your home, please bring them for a play date before deciding to adopt. I can be a little shy when meeting new canines and I want to find the right companion. Come play some fetch with me today? Give me the best gift ever, a family to call my own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cole, a Harrisonburg Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
