Dottie(Loving Torti Kitten)'s Story...
This adorable kitten has already been through a lot ... losing her home due to allergies. Just 5 mos. old, Dottie is eager for some stability and a lifetime of love and good care.
She's a typical kitten.. loud purrs, affectionate, easily handled and loves playing with her toys.
After she works off some energy, she's ready to curl up in a lap or sit beside you while you're on your computer. It took Dottie only a few days to acclimate to the bigger cats and dog in her foster home and now she wouldn't dream of being without another kitty companion! While she looks almost black in the photo (better ones coming soon) she actually has dark Tortoiseshelll coloring/markings. She comes already microchipped, too. Meet her in her Arlington, VA foster home or upon request at our Capital Hill/DC adoption fair on Sunday. Posted 12/31/14

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dottie(Loving Torti Kitten), a Arlington Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Arlington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Arlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
