Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Puff was found as a stray at the Quan Am Buddhist Monastery 4 weeks ago. His neck and face were completely swollen. As we shaved away his hair to inspect his injuries, we found he had been attacked by another dog. His neck had a huge abscess and several punctures from teeth. After taking X-rays, our doctors found a small fracture on the right side of his neck. His abscess and puncture wounds have healed beautifully! He had been a trooper. With careful monitoring, rest and medication, his neck is healing. He still holds his head down and has times when he cries. He lifts his head a little more everyday, though.
Our doctor guesstimates him to be around 4-5 months. He still has only puppy teeth. He is too young to be heartworm tested, but we have applied Advantage Multi. He will get his second dose tomorrow. He has been dewormed. Due to serious infection when we first got him and the Prednisone he is taking now for his neck, he has not yet had vaccinations. He was neutered, however, when we put him under to drain his abscess and take better X-rays.
Puffy is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever been around. All he wants is to be loved. He is still very skittish and takes longer to warm up to men. He has never shown teeth or snapped, but he will growl a little if he's scared. He gets along great with other dogs! At work, he was friends with a big Doberman. In my house, he lives with two Bulldogs and a shepherd. He does well with all of them. He is timid at first, but his tail never stops wagging. He takes food and treats very gently and is not food aggressive. He does well with cats; he mainly just sniffs mine and walks away! He loves to walk outside and stays close. He wants to be with people! He hasn't chewed on anything in my house or had any accidents. He cries when first put in his crate but quickly calms down.
Puff is currently being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will travel to his new forever home via transport. His adoption fee of 450.00 includes his neuter, vaccinations and transport to his new forever home. For an adoption application on Puff, please email Blues City Animal rescue at baversa1@gmail.com.
