Betsy's Story...
Introducing Beautiful Betsy! Betsy is a fun-loving, active lady with an exuberance for life. She enjoys endless play more than any of our other rescued pups. She would bond incredibly well to a new human friend that would play fetch with her daily. That is her game of choice and she is really good at it. If you have a good arm, Betsy is your girl! She will keep you busy for as long as you will toss that ball to her. BEAUTIFUL is the best way to describe Betsy’s appearance. She has a gorgeous brindle and white coat and her silly smile will keep you laughing. Betsy weighs about 55 pounds and she has a high energy level and endurance to go along with that. She would be a dream dog for an owner that is a runner and an adventurous person that will take her along on every outing as a constant companion. She also loves swimming, pools, lakes, rivers…anywhere you could take her. Betsy has a backpack and wears it when she goes hiking. She will even carry your water bottle and snacks for you. Now that’s a good friend! Betsy gets along best with large dogs because she is big and likes to play like a tough girl. Betsy does well with kids, but smaller ones can and probably would get knocked over, although not intentionally, by Betsy’s quick movements. Betsy is crate- trained, housebroken, and knows her basics such as sit, stay, drop it, and go to crate. She is an affectionate girl, always aiming to please, especially when the reward for such is a ball and a good game of fetch! Betsy responds well to consistent training and will need to continue receiving direction. With all that energy she needs help staying focused! An exercise routine helps her a lot and her medication, Fluoxetine, helps too. She will need to stay on this medication until her veterinarian recommends discontinuing it. Betsy is gorgeous, energetic, and available for adoption into a loving and active family (or a couple or single person). She will adore her people, but doesn’t like the couch potato lifestyle. Her breed mix is unknown, but she is likely an American Staffordshire terrier mix, and 2011 is her approximate birth year. If this female athlete sounds like your dream dog, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. Betsy is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, and has all of her current vaccinations.) She is house and kennel-trained. She is currently in boarding in Houston, Texas, but is available to be flown via United Pet Safe to most major airports (including NY/JFK). Her adoption fee (including flight, travel kennel, and health certification) is $375. Please contact us at corridorrescue@gmail.com with any questions. Thank you!
