Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It is a true pleasure to tell you about Captain Jack Sparrow. He is a slight young man, perhaps a year old, who will melt your heart. He stands about 14" tall and weighs maybe 20 lbs. He is working on putting on a few pounds though. He is totally house trained, never an accident in the house. His house manners are typical of a one year old - he forgets sometimes that you're not supposed to jump on the coffee table! He does steal the slippers from the closet or the duster - what self respecting young beagle wouldn't?
Jack was totally blind in one eye when he was picked up by animal control and it was determined that it was an old injury that had never been addressed. Because we knew he was in great pain, we had to remove the eye immediately. He's been without the use of it for so long, he doesn't know any different. It does make him a bit clumsy in some circumstances though but not often.
A typical day in the life of Jack is to check out the backyard, via the dogdoor and do his business. He loves to come inside and tell his foster mom how much he loves her and how happy he is. He loves to ride in the car and go for walks and is perfect in all settings. He sits quietly in the backseat of the car, just looking out the window like a good boy. He has perfect food manners and does not inhale his food. He would never approach anyone else's bowl and will occasionally allow his to be stolen. Jack is a very cuddly boy and needs to sleep as close to a human as he can get - that's a must for him. He loves all children and all other dogs. Jack would like a home with both and after all he's been through, he really does deserve it. Jack is not "special needs" though - he's just missing an eye.
