Alonsa, 13 y/o, Female Weimaraner. Alsona came to rescue after the death of her owner. There were no other family members that could take her, so Alsonsa went a local shelter. The shelter atmosphere was very stressful for Alonsa. She became a little withdrawn and did not eat well, so she lost some weight and became rather thin. Her skin was itchy and her coat was sparse. However, being in rescue has been great for Alonsa! She has been living in a wonderful foster home for a few weeks, where she is eating good food and receiving supplements for her coat. She has put on weight, practiced basic obedience skills, and her coat is looking great. Alonsa is definitely coming out of her shell and is gaining endurance. She enjoys playing with toys and cuddling with her male lab buddy and the humans in her foster home. Alonsa has not been around small children, but she may go to a home with children over the age of 12. She gets along well with all other dogs and she can live comfortably in the home with cats. She will follow kitties around initially, but then leaves them alone. Fostered in San Francisco.
