Yoda's Story...
Cuteness overload ahead! Those ears! Those eyes! That nose! Young Yoda, all icy white except for a touch of pink here and a patch of gray there, was saved from freezing with his four abandoned brothers, and brought into our care. Although he acts the part of the feisty feline, he is, in reality, a shy puss-in-boots. As sweet as he is curious, Yoda is learning his cat lessons one slow step at a time. And as he grows calmer and more comfortable in his kitty-cat skin, he will be purr-fectly prepared for a calm, comfortable and loving forever home.

Our shelter is a no cage, no kill sanctuary. Most of the cats in our care are here because they was no other alternative and for many it was their last hope. All of our cats receive love, affection and attention everyday. Every volunteer we have spends personal time with each and every one of them so we can tell you in detail all about their personality when you come to adopt. The more we can adopt out the more we can go out and rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yoda, a Waynesville American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Waynesville, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Waynesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waynesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waynesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waynesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
