My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Azalea! I'm about 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 12 lbs.
I was originally seized by the pound after they received a disturbing call that my friend (Allie) had been tied up outside all night in a snow storm (They couldn't even see me where I was tied at) and was still tied outside the following morning. It was 11 degrees with whipping winds that were below zero. There was 4+ inches of snow.
I had a hole melted in the snow where I was trying to lay down to keep warm because I had NO SHELTER whatsoever to help keep me out of the wind and elements. I had ice and snow frozen to my face. It's a lucky thing for me that I didn't freeze to death!
Our owner was initially fighting to get custody of us again. When she called the pound to inquire about getting us back, she acted as if there was absolutely nothing wrong with leaving us outside in that weather with no shelter at all.
When our case went to court, however, she pled no contest and was found guilty.
The pound got custody of us and I quickly found a new home.
I was really good girl aside from one teensy weensy little problem... I'm a door darter. I like my freedom and I will dart past you and take off every chance I get, which is why the new family that adopts me, MUST have a fenced in yard.
Other than my want to door dart, I really am a really great girl!!
I love all people both big and small.
I like and get along well with most other dogs.
I keep my kennel clean at night and I am even said to be completely house broken.
If you're looking for a super sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER MAY 2, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
