Hi! My name is Rex, and I’m a 6 year old, 17 lb. male Schnauzer.
Boy, has 2014 been a big year for me! I don’t know too much about my life prior to April of 2014. At that time, I was given to a humane society in Missouri. The humane society discovered that I was heartworm positive and that I had cataracts. An angel from Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati rescued me from the shelter and I was transported to Cincinnati. That is when my life really changed!
The rescue first provided me with treatment for heartworm disease and I received a clean bill of health at the end of October. The rescue also paid for me to have cataract surgery in both eyes. What a Christmas gift that was! I’ve spent the last month adjusting to my new eyesight. It’s been pretty incredible! I am still learning how to go up steps, but I’ve mastered going down the steps. I even learned how to jump onto my foster parents’ bed. That was huge for me!!
In general, I am a pretty low-key dog...especially by Schnauzer standards. I love cuddling on the couch and I love my daily walks. I have three Schnauzer foster siblings, and while I get along with them, I don’t really understand how to play with them. I usually just watch them play from the sidelines. I don’t seem to mind cats or kids. Just like most Schnauzers, I love food. So, the only time I’m really vocal is feeding time. Otherwise, I’m pretty quiet. I’m fully house trained and I’m crate trained.
You know, 2014 was a pretty big year for me. But, 2015 will be even better because I know I’ll find my forever family in 2015!
Rex is fostered by Jessica in Cincinnati OH. His adoption fee is only $275.00
