Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOKI: 2-Year-Old Neutered Male Yellow Lab 75 Pounds
I am Loki… not so lucky right now. Been on the friggin’ merry-go-round of owners over the past few months… and am hoping to step off into a forever home soon.
I’ve been passed from owner to owner to owner… as none of those families were prepared to invest the time and energy into giving me structure, behavior lessons, and general socialization with people and dogs. Been hanging around backyards. Am tired of hanging around backyards. Tired of smelling my own poop and pee. I want new smells. I am not even sure I know my name… as I’ve been renamed several times. Geez.
I’m a strong, energetic, playful, and exuberant English lab with few manners, including little awareness of how to walk on a leash. This lab rescue guy I met a few days ago put a correction collar on me a few days ago – boy, did that get my attention and immediate cooperation while walking around on a leash. I love playing with other dogs – although I am a bit boisterous. I also love to jump up on humans to say hi. “Rules”? “Boundaries”? “Crate training”? What are those things? I also am very interested (but not in a good way) in cats.
What Loki’s GGLRR rep says: Loki is current on all shots (including bordatella), negative for heartworm, reportedly micro-chipped (we will confirm), and neutered. He was even given a Heartgard pill and Advantix flea/tick preventive application on 23 December. What a great dog! Full of potential. He will thrive with some behavior/obedience lessons followed by a committed regimen of routine structure and discipline. He deserves a forever family with children, action, and even an existing dog. Cats need not apply.
Loki is being fostered in Petaluma.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
