Here's what the humans have to say about me:
RIO: 6 Year Old Chocolate Male Lab Neutered 75 Pounds
What a cuddly, little bear of a dog! Rio came to Lab Rescue as his loving family is moving out of the country and can't take him with them. He has been a family dog since 2008 and is great with kids, cats and even….chickens! Rio is in great shape (although could lose 5 or so pounds) and is used to walking, long hikes and even biking (running alongside) with his owners. Rio acts like a 3-4 year old! He rides well in the car, takes treats gently and does very well in the house by himself. Like most Labs, he is an avid swimmer. Rio is used to having someone at home with him during the day so Lab Rescue would prefer a family situation that won't require him to be at home alone all day. We would love to see him with a family with children since he is used to that (having two human siblings) and is so loving with them, but it's not a requirement.
Rio is up to date on his shots and is neutered. Rio is sometimes a bit mouthy when he's playful (and might knock a small child over in his affectionate play), so we would advise not very small children unless they are dog-savvy.
Rio is located in Marin.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
