Meet Sadie! This stunning young lady was rescued from a bad outdoor living situation in rural West Tennessee. She is 1-2 years old, healthy and fully vetted, is "moslly" housetrained, and is crate trained. Sadie appears to be an Australian shepherd mix complete with no tail. She is good with other dogs but does best with slow introductions. She is a high energy girl that needs exercise daily so an active family and fenced back yard are a necessity. Sadie's foster mom does not have children but says that Sadie would likely enjoy kids. She is good in the car but does still need some work on leash walking. She has been introduced to ( and smacked by) cats and did fine but we would still recommend supervision. We would recommend that Sadie's adopter be a dog savvy person who has experience with the breed and knows its demands. If you are interested in this beautiful Aussie girl please APPLY at www.southernrootsrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Staunton Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
