Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penny is a very mellow pup who likes her squeaker toys, kong, and chew toys and bones….. and her food! She is eager to please and is treat motivated. She gets along well with the resident terrier and is respectful of the resident cats. Children are fine, however she is a larger dog, and is strong. She loves to play with dogs her size at the dog park and needs and likes exercise—she walks well on the leash and is very active at the dog park. She is working on her potty training. She has learned to sit and is a great snuggler in bed at night. Car rides are part of her day and she perks up at the word “ride” and “let’s go”. She’s very much a girlie girl. She lies patiently in the bathroom while I shower and is at my feet when using the blow dryer and doing the morning routine. She’s a delightful and entertaining addition to our household and I’m sure she will make her forever family very happy they chose her. Penny is estimated to be 8 months old,and weighs about 40 lbs. We will update her profile soon! Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday February 7, 2015, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
