Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hubba Hubba! This handsome hunk of a stunning boy is listed as a mixed breed only because we do not DNA test dogs! But he is for sure a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever primarily, if not completely! This is the smallest of the retriever breeds and was bred to retrieve water foul during a hunt.
Prince was rescued from a high kill Louisiana shelter where he was dumped by his owners who did not want him anymore (along with his girlfriend, a rat terrier mix, and her puppy - see listing for Pebbles). The entire family was on the euthanasia list due to lack of space in the horrible shelter (owner surrenders are killed first to accommodate holding strays for a few days). The entire family was rescued, and both Prince and Pebbles are available for adoption.
Prince is not only one gorgeous dude, he is also FULL of personality! He is cuddly, snuggly, loves to play ball/fetch, and gets along with pretty much everyone he meets, although he has not been introduced to cats as his foster mom doesn't have any. Prince does have a canine foster brother and they have become fast friends. They love snuggling on their foster parents' bed at night, and love racing and chasing each other outside in the snow by day.
Prince has been vetted, is up to date on vaccines, has been neutered and microchipped and does not have heartworm. He has been on flea and heartworm prevention since we rescued him. He is the perfect medium-sized boy weighing only 28 lbs. and is full grown at about 2-3 years old. Prince is housebroken and crate trained, and is beginning basic obedience. Prince is working on leash manners (he does pull and his breed is a very strong breed), but will need an owner willing to continue to work with him on the leash.
