Oreo and her sister were found in a small carrier abandoned in the hallway of
an apartment building. There was a note that read “we are a poor family – I am
taking these cats away from my abusive mother. Please take good care of them”
Oreo was brought into our program and her sister was adopted by the lady who
found them. She was very shy at first as Oreo had no idea what was happening
to her. She found herself in a strange home, a new person to care for her and other animals in the home that were very curious about her. She hid in the sewing room in any corner or box where she couldn’t be seen.
The new foster home had a small menagerie who were very eager and anxious to meet Oreo. On the third day, the foster mother was perplexed at Oreo because it didn’t matter how much she tried, Oreo refused to come out of her shell. Shortly afterwards, the foster mom found just the right thing that would show us just how loveable and sweet she truly was – an old wand that had a string and tin foil attached to it. After that day, there was no turning back for Oreo.
She is a very confident, yet curious little soul. She loves to sit on the bed and wind herself around your legs purring contently. Oreo loves a good conversation and makes these little “chirps” before she rolls on her back for a belly rub. She enjoys the company of the other cats and dogs in the home. She shows no fear towards any of them. Oreo would make a great addition to any home. Won’t you adopt her today!
