Baxter's Story...
This beautiful boy is Baxter, a white German Shepherd/Husky mix. He is an energetic puppy at just over a year old, in an adult body. He is currently working on basic commands which include walking on a leash and socialization. He has proven to be a quick learner and really has a desire to please. He has decided treats are wonderful! Baxter loves car rides and plays well with big and small dogs... though he likes to chase cats if they run from him. Baxter would do best with a tall, fenced yard and a companion dog to play with. An owner that is firm but kind and includes him in their daily lives would be desired, as well as a household with children (if any) above the age of 12. He would be good at herding, agility or scent work as Shepherds always need a 'job'.

(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Gig Harbor German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Husky for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Husky breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
