Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ebony is a cute little Chihuahua-Pug Mix who weighs 7 lbs. and is around 2 years old. Ebony has an adorable under-bite and a precious puppy-like face. Despite her horrendous beginnings in a hoarding environment (where she lived outside with many other dogs 24/7), this two year old girl has a terrific, peppy personality with an equal amount of playtime and lap time! She is a devoted little sweetheart and would love more than anything to have a âÂÂfureverâ human to call 'mom' or 'dad'. She is great with both men and women, alike and will even snuggle in the arms of an 18 year old boy! She enjoys the company of another dog or human. If her human isn't available, she'll quickly snuggle next to another dog. We haven't yet seen her lay alone! Speaking of, she is very welcoming of any and all other dogs...and people, for that matter. On her first days of rescue, she was slightly protective of her food but as time progresses, she hasn't displayed any protectiveness. Of course, her foster mom feeds her separate just in case. Ebony is not a watch dog (she doesn't care to monitor the windows) but she will bark along with the pack even though she doesn't know what she is barking at. Ebony is also being introduced to a collar and leash so she can comfortably take walks in the future. Medically, Ebony is currently being treated for Demodectic Mange which is generally known to NOT be contagious to other animals. She is responding very well to treatment and will be even more adorable when her hair re-grows and all mange is history! In regards to housebreaking, we're working on outdoors as well as potty pad training but she hasn't been in rescue long so we are in very early stages. So, if you're looking for a happy little lapdog who enjoys life despite her neglectful beginnings, Ebony is your girl! She would do best in a home with another dog or dogs since she loves to play and cuddle (unless you are home all day). If she is alone, she can be crated though she will bark for a little while before calming down. Once she learns a routine of when you are leaving and coming, her crying will lessen. If she is with another dog, however, she will feel more secure while you are gone.
