My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baby Huey! Yes he's big, very big (85 lbs. of solid muscle!) but he's also a baby!! He lived with Haley (German Shepherd-Bloodhound mix) since he was a young pup so he thinks she's his mom and acts like a big baby when he's not with her! Poor Huey and Haley lived their lives 24-7 outside with little human interaction and unfortunately for Huey some of the interaction he did receive was being beaten with a belt. His nubby tail got that way from his owner putting a rubber band around it so tight and leaving it on until his tail fell off. The only positive human interaction they did receive was from children attending the neighboring church/school who would walk over to hand them treats through the fence ... so they are wonderful with children!!! Amazingly Huey has absolutely no fear, agression, or trust issues with adults. Weeven had him temperament tested by a professional dog trainer and he passed with flying colors!!!! Huey is extremely loving and affectionate ... he will make his way into your lap - he doesn't seem to realize how big he is!!! He's only around a year old so he's very playful and will require daily exercise. Huey is working on his basic obedience and knows 'sit' so far. He is also working on leash walking and housebreaking and is doing fabulously for a dog that's only known life outside. Huey is loving dog toys, raw rides, bones, and treats as this is the first time he's ever been exposed to them so he is extremely happy with all these new discoveries!!!! Huey is going to Obedience Class at Canine University so he can not only begin learning obedience commands but also socialization skills with other people and dogs. Huey's goal is to become CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certified because he's such a good boy with lots of potential!!! Huey will need a responsible owner who can dedicate time every day to be sure Huey gets exercise and play time. Even though Huey loves children we cannot place him in a home with small children just because he's so big he may knock them over when he's playing (or try to crawl in their little laps!!!)
