My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BillyBoo is a very loving, male boxer mix, 4 years young and weighs in at about 60 lbs. Local animal control had confiscated him from his owners for neglect.. and boy was he neglected! He was skin and bones and missing most of his hair from being infected from fleas and having an allergy to them. He gained a significant amount of weight at the local pound but no one came to adopt him. His skin was still healing ..maybe that was the deterrent? His time was up and we just couldn't let him just die! He was finally free from his chains and neglect.. he deserves a chance to live a happy dog life!

Now Billy Boo (Boo was his name at the pound, the foster family added 'Billy') is living like a normal dog in a foster care. He has 4 big foster fur-siblings his size and 1 adorable little foster fur-sister beagle. He is learning how to play with them and is doing very well. He takes the submissive role.

BillyBoo has great house manners and already knows several commands. He loves to play, take walks and snuggle on your lap. As most big dogs believe they are lap dogs, Billy Boo is no exception.

Due to Billy's negative past, he does have some minor quirks. He seems to have a fear of water bottles (we know, weird..maybe they threw them at him??), is fearful of people hovering over top of him (which is an overly assertive stance to a dog) and also gets uneasy if the household gets too crazy loud (i.e. the teenage boys start wrestling each other). He does growl to voice his fear but it never goes beyond that. And having that communication is wonderful.

Billy has a gentle soul and lots of love to give. He is a truly sweet boy who deserves to finally live the life all dogs should live!

if you have a place in your heart and home for this sweet boy, let us know!

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at http://www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org/Adopt.html

THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.

Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy! Questions: email adopt@dogsunlimitedrescue.org

And THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog for your family!
