Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Peanut is a cute, foxy looking, 7-lb. Chihuahua who is in need of a permanent home. He is approximately 7 years old and in good health. He will make someone a loving companion.
Peanut was rescued about a year ago from an abusive situation. Over the year his rescuer has worked successfully with Peanut to overcome his fears. He is now a happy little camper with a tail that wags a mile a minute. He loves bath time, even getting blow-dried, and snuggles into body massages. He loves walks as much as he loves treats.
Unfortunately, Peanut's rescuer has worsening health problems which prevent her from continuing to give Peanut the attention he deserves. She is looking for a permanent home for him where he will have love, companionship and daily exercise. Peanut still has some anxiety about being left alone, so retiree guardian(s) and perhaps a little dog buddy to play with would be ideal for him.
Peanut is fully house-trained and doesn't mark in the house. He's not a yapper, barking only occasionally when appropriate. His nature is social. He may be cautious at first, but warms up quickly to people. Peanut gets along well with other small dogs and has lived with a cat. We do not know how he is with children.
Peanut is already neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. His current guardian will provide adopters with his records, his leash and harness, his bed and toys.
