Facts about Sam

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Sam is a young male Lab mix, approximately 2 years old. As you can see, he is also a very handsome young boy and he so loves to be told that! We do not know what Sam's life was like before now, but he obviously has never known love or what it's like to be part of a family. This boy absolutely LOVES attention and relishes every little thing you will do with him or for him. He loves it so much that he will hold on to you to keep you from leaving him. He is learning that he is not being left forever and doesn't need to hang on - he is very anxious to please and listens intently to everything you say and doesn't miss anything you do. This boy is so intelligent, and so willing to learn - a gentle but firm hand goes a long way with him. He is also a high energy boy - no couch potato here! He loves going for walks, loves being involved in whatever is going on around him. Sam needs a large fenced yard to run through his boundless energy, a family or individual that will take him for rides and hikes and to share their lives with him. Sam is a very special boy, waiting for his family and home to call his own. Sam has been neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. He is house trained and crate trained. If you would like to learn more about this boy, please complete the online adoption application and indicate 'Sam' in the notes section.

About Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption - IN

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption is an all-volunteer, non-profit (currently filing for 501(c)(3) status) rescue organization whose mission is to reduce the euthanasia rates and inhumane treatment of Labrador Retrievers in the Midwest and find loving forever homes for them.

Most labs that come into Lucky Lab Rescue are from shelters here in the Midwest. Most are at risk of euthanasia, usually due to overcrowded shelters. Labs are one of the most popular breeds of dogs due to their loyal and family oriented personalities. Labs are also one of the most overbred breeds and are the number one breed to be found in shelters. They also have one of the highest euthanasia rates. Some find it difficult that rescues can be breed specific, however, Lucky Lab Rescue and other lab rescues make a huge impact on euthanasia rates just by rescuing labs and lab mixes alone.

Our Adoption Process...

Potiential adopters must fill out an application and a Lucky Lab representative will follow up with both a phone and home interview. Our adoption includes all vaccination, microchip, spay or neuter and a heartworm test. Provide additional medical treatments if needed.
