Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Teeny, tiny, little Roo (formerly known as "Baby Girl" was found in a kill shelter on the euthanasia list in rural Louisiana where hundreds of dogs are put to sleep every week due to overpopulation! Roo was just a baby curled up in a ball in her concrete cell when a kind woman saved her. She reached out to us for help with Roo and some others, and we rescued her.
Roo is believed to be a miniature dachshund. She is a spayed female, about 6 months old, and weighs only 5.5 lbs. She will not get above 10 lbs. But don't let her little size fool you! Ms. Roo is quite the feisty little girl and her personality is HUGE! She loves to play, will fetch and bring back toys and balls, and has the most adorable "chatty" sound when she is getting attention! Roo is good with other dogs, and is working on her housebreaking. She is not currently crated, as part of her housebreaking routine, and we are looking for a home for her where she would not be crated any significant length of time or on a regular basis. Roo has not been around cats, but due to her size, I doubt there will be any problems there except she may think they are friends who want to wrestle and chase :)
Roo has been fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, is heartworm negative, and has received a clean bill of health! She is currently being fostered in South Carolina because we have a shortage of local Maryland fosters. We ARE accepting applications and she can be brought to Maryland for meet and greets with a little notice.
Interested adopters please email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Adopters subject to reference check, vet reference, home visit, meet and greet. Adoption fee applies.
