Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Initial Bio 1-11-15 Whoever said a puppy is a bundle of energy and love must have meet UYR's new little puppy, Lexie. Lexis is a 6 month old puppy who weighs 5.2 pounds and is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.
Lexie came to us only yesterday, so we don't know everything about her, but we do know she is just a ball of puppy love. She loves to run and run and will take off in the backyard like a bullet. She needs a fenced yard and another young dog to play with. She loves toys and will play fetch, but will also steal toys from her foster sister. Lexis's former owners said she will bold out of any open door, so she will need to be watched all the time and never unleashed in an unfenced area.
We are not yet sure if Lexie is house trained totally. We do know she will use a potty pad and also go outside, but she will, if not taken out often, potty in the house. She will need someone home often enough to take her out several times a day. Lexie would not do well in a home where she is crated or alone by herself for hours each day.
Lexie would do great in a home with children old enough to know she is not a toy (even though she looks like one), but still have the time to play with her in a responsible manner.
Lexie will need the rest of her puppy shots and her spay which will most likely happen this week.
Puppies are very cute and lovable, but puppies are work, so only consider a possible adoption of Lexie if you have the time and energy to put into raising a puppy and seeing her through her life time of another possible 15 or more years.
