My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Panda is a 3-year-old, 15-lb. purebred CKC-registered Boston terrier. He is a gorgeous boy, but has had a hard life, was used for breeding and was abused. When he first came into rescue, he was very fearful. He also had some medical problems: stenotic nares (very narrow nostrils) for which he had surgery to fix, and he is heartworm positive. He is on the slow-kill method of treatment which involves giving pills which are supplied by the rescue.

Panda has spent several months with a loving foster mom and he has bonded with her and her husband, so we feel sure he will bond with his forever parents. He would probably not be good with small children because they may be too rough with him. He might snap if he gets overwhelmed. He is jealous if other dogs get near his foster mom. We think an only-dog situation would be ideal for him. We have no experience with him and cats.

Panda loves to cuddle and walks well on a leash. He is potty-trained as long as you keep him on schedule. He does not like a crate and we will not adopt to anyone planning to crate him. When we found him, he was locked in a too-small crate. His ideal forever parents would be retired and home a lot.

Panda is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on his vaccines, had a dental and had his nose fixed so he can breathe better. Panda is in South Carolina and we will not transport him to the north. He needs a very special home.

If you are interested in learning more about Panda, call his foster mom, Linda, at 843-625-0220. To adopt him, visit bostonrescueofsc.org and fill out the adoption application. Panda's adoption fee is $300.
