My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET PENNY-

Calling all 12's who also like Dachshunds...This tiny 10 lb, 24 month old Doxie mix may be your new best friend. She is sweet, friendly, gets along well with her foster brothers and sisters (furry and human) and her favorite blanket is her Seahawks Blanket, which she loves to carry around with her...oh! and she likes buttery scrambled eggs. Little PENNY has had a bit of a rough time lately. Her previous owner found she didn't have the means to care for her and gave her away to a stranger. She was then then listed on a buy/sell/trade website where her current foster mom found her and contacted Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. to help find a forever family. PENNY is a little shy, afraid of the dark and is learning who she can trust and is still trying to find her voice. She will do well in a loving, forever home with a family who wants to care for her no matter what...and who like her football team (or are at least willing to let her keep her favorite blanket).

NOTE FROM ODR, INC:
PENNY has been fully vetted, spayed and received a complete dental examination so she is all ready to go with her new family.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give PENNY a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in touch with you within 48 -72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
